The North Carolina State Constitution

This activity introduces the NC State Constitution to students, it’s hard to understand the constitution in its own wording. I have rewritten it in words that students can understand and comprehend. The background of our state constitution is given with regards to the 3 times it has been written. The three branches of government are included and it’s importance to our state and national government.

Vocabulary: amendment, revision

The text is broken down into sections based on each time it was written and the major amendments that were set forth at the time. Students are given 16 questions to answers – multiple choice and open ended which align with the text.

Answer keys are included!
