Digital Map Skills for Google Classroom and Google Drive
This resource was created to help my students better understand their location on a map, where they live in regards to the United States, and why it’s important to know their address. The pages included were made to be completed as a packet and build on each other. Therefore, students need to complete each page in order.
“PERFECT ADDITION TO MY “ME ON THE MAP” ACTIVITIES! THANKS SO MUCH!!” ~ Angie T. (TpT Buyer)
This product begins with a pre-test. This will give you a basic understanding of how much students know about their location. My students always surprise me by how little they know about where they live! *I also use the pre-test as a study guide for the post-test.
BOOK OF MAPS
I included a 6-page book of maps for students to use as a reference guide while completing the packet. They can cut the maps apart on the dotted line, organize the maps by page number, and staple them together.
The first 3 pages of the packet introduce students to the importance of knowing their physical (911) address and their mailing address. Students practice writing both.
The remaining pages consist of the following topics. I give a brief explanation with a corresponding activity for students to complete on each page.
Where do I live in relation to:
- US REGION
I included a GRAPHIC ORGANIZER on the last page for students to use as a visual summary of where they are located in the United States.
This product ends with a post-test. The first page of the post-test is exactly like the pre-test. I added 10 extra multiple-choice questions that students should know after completing the entire mini-unit.
